How to Apply for a Learning License in India?

Online Application Process (via Parivahan Portal)
Go to the Parivahan Sewa official website atparivahan.gov.in and select your state.
Click on “Apply for Learner License” and fill out the application form carefully.
Upload documents: proof of age, proof of address, photo, and signature.
Pay the learner’s license fees online.
Book a test slot at your nearest RTO.
Appear for the online test on the scheduled date.
Note: If you pass the test, your learning license will be issued. Now you can download your digital learner’s license from the portal.
Offline Application Process (at RTO Office)
Visit your nearest RTO and collect Form 2 (Application for Learning License).
Fill out the form and attach all required documents, passport-size photo, and signature.
Submit the form and pay the learner’s license fees.
Book a test appointment at the RTO.
Appear for the test on the chosen date.
If you pass, you’ll get your learner’s license the same day or by post.

How Long Your License Lasts?
The Learning License is valid for 6 months from the date of issue.
You must apply for your Permanent Driving License after 30 days of getting your learner’s license, but make sure to do it within 6 months.
In India, the learner’s license test isn’t too tough. You will answer some questions about traffic rules and road signs, mostly on a computer, sometimes on paper. You just need about 60% to pass.
Test Format
The test is made up of simple multiple-choice questions (MCQs).
All Questions are related to the traffic rules, road signals and safe driving practices.
The test usually takes only about 10–15 minutes to finish.
